Elven Music

Original Post by Sarsia on Feb 28, 2008 at 11:05am

Whats everyone’s favorite music instrument…

the flute? (nin, caly, sarsy, salvesia, seliousa, yukia, tyrna, phage)

the harp ? (caly, yukia, phage, tyrna)

or singing?
(phage, sarah, caly, tyrna, yukia, sarsy)

and who’s your favourite songstress of that?

please try and be honest…

Post by Alzacastar on Feb 28, 2008 at 7:27pm

hmmm, I don’t believe we have heard all of these play…
I’d have to pick caly for singing… flute I’m not sure… nin and her daughters sort of mastered it… as for the harp… they are all equally good.

Post by Silvasky on Feb 29, 2008 at 9:58am

i for one think phage will become the greatest songstress out of the bunch, but it requires lots of practice…

Post by Sarsia on Feb 29, 2008 at 12:25pm

you may be right Caly.

Post by Phage on Feb 29, 2008 at 12:43pm

well. I don’t know about that… but ill try my best. I like making music and stuff anyways…

Post by Seliousa on Mar 7, 2008 at 12:36pm

I’m not too sure about phage but I know yukia was very skilled with the harp and singing, just like her half-sister caly

Post by Alzacastar on Mar 11, 2008 at 10:42am

i wonder if celinaysa will start into music…?

Post by Sarsia on Mar 11, 2008 at 11:17am

shes started into healing… hmm… should maybe get caly to help her with that… and see if she likes the music idea or not…

Post by Arzingoth on Mar 11, 2008 at 7:43pm

yes well, we need another healer around here I guess Kiro does need SOME time off to spend with poor kilana… oh as for favorite songstress id have to say nin why? because she seems to take you into other worlds with her songs and that flute of hers helps a lot… for singing? well, caly almost never sang back in the day id have to say sarsy and no it’s not just because she’s my mate its because she’s the one I have to listen to sing her sweet voice can always help me sleep…

Post by Seliousa on Mar 12, 2008 at 12:55pm

yeah … mom does have a way with her flute… I still remember when she used to play her flute to help me sleep when I was little…

Post by Arzingoth on Mar 12, 2008 at 9:08pm

back before shatterages… she was a good parent…

Post by Silvasky on Mar 13, 2008 at 11:18am

there tends to be that consistency… where those who were shattered don’t seem to fully come back after there souls are put back together… they lose a bit of themselves every time… and there doesn’t seem to be a way to get that part of you back… wither you want it back or not, or know about it or not…

Post by Alzacastar on Mar 14, 2008 at 9:28am

hmmm… i wonder how a topic about music got turned over to soul-shattering… well in any case, you two are correct… it also, however, depends upon how long someone remains shattered if there were any infections involved, if the soul shards found bodies, or developed there own personalities; if any of the soul shards were exiled or not seems to make a big difference… but yes i would suppose eventually…the soul would deteriorate and then eventually you would be unable to put the soul back together without merging with another soul to make up for the loss (sort of like how the dragons were merged with brother), so far out of all the spirowas only sarsia (that I am aware of, and not counting any of the dark ones) is the only one who hasn’t been shattered as of yet.

well the music I like is all types besides rap and stuff besides that the most I listen to are country and within temptation that’s a good band they help me to meditate the music instrument I like playing is the guitar the trumpet the trombone and the sax I would love to try the banjo and the violin

Post by Arzingoth on Mar 17, 2008 at 11:16pm

Post by Alzacastar on Mar 17, 2008 at 11:21pm

roar!!!

Post by Arzingoth on Mar 17, 2008 at 11:23pm

pff… don’t insult me… uses a human soul to make a dragon statue and puts it on his shelf

Post by wolf boy 1726 on Mar 31, 2008 at 11:13am

what a way to disgrace a dragon… even if it is a statue!!

Post by Seliousa on Mar 17, 2008 at 11:34pm

hmm… i think we should start making happier songs…for happier times…

Post by Silvasky on Mar 18, 2008 at 7:59a

yes!

Post by Arzingoth on Mar 18, 2008 at 4:51pm

good plan… happy songs yes… I like happy songs…

Post by Alzacastar on Mar 18, 2008 at 9:00pm

yes…

Post by Kiro on Mar 18, 2008 at 9:44pm

healing songs? caly can make them then sing them and help me help others!

Post by Alzacastar on Mar 19, 2008 at 9:29am

healing songs…? yes… not a new idea since nin used to do that with her flute… but its a good idea…

Post by Silvasky on Mar 19, 2008 at 10:47am

hmmm singing a healing spell?

Post by Alzacastar on Mar 20, 2008 at 8:14am

sure why not. I read somewhere that singing is a much more effective way of casting spells… (some human magic website…) don’t know if its true or not… but I’m sure caly would do a fine job at that… hmmm, brother said sarsia could sing… so maybe the two spirowas sisters?

Post by Arzingoth on Mar 20, 2008 at 10:52am

good plan…

Post by Seliousa on Mar 28, 2008 at 8:31am

hmm… have to play mom’s healing song on the flute while they sing…

Post by Arzingoth on Mar 30, 2008 at 2:47pm

ya, maybe they will end up going on tour…

Post by Redikai on Mar 31, 2008 at 3:12pm

believe it or not. at one time the top singers in the land were Ninalmeia, Tyrna, Clear, and Kilana. as time went on, however, Nin focused on the flute, Tyrna focused more on pure notes of different chimes, her harp and every once in a while singing…as for kilana, she stopped soon after kaly’s exile. as for clear she stopped soon after her kid’s disappearance… nowadays their children and children’s children, seem to be continuing the trend.

Post by Arzingoth on Mar 31, 2008 at 9:09pm

seems so.

Post by Andoria on May 23, 2012 at 12:00am

seems to me elven music would be sort of like traditional folk and Irish or celtic music in human speak. and likely different elves would have different styles, maybe some were similar to western folk, and others eastern.

forgive me for posting up a song here but maybe this is more “modern” elven music?

then again this is just my opinion, what do you think?

once again sorry for posting songs here when this isn’t the song thread, but I thought id give you a taste of what I meant.
