Astra and its neighbouring planets… Astra also was known as Astrea and Astrinia to some. Venixia, Val’cronis, Lunixia, Theis asteroid belt, Icgollumak, and Kar’Tharis. As well as each of the planet’s neighbouring moons, including Ompt’lampa (one of the six sister moons of Venixia)
The system is laid out as such… there are two stars in the system. The main star and a much smaller and lighter dwarf star. All planets revolve around the main star, which is called Deka to most, named after the god of energy. the planets all revolve around a single star, similar to Earth’s solar system… The star itself burns mostly hydrogen, the same as Earth’s own.
The first planet in the system revolving around the sun is called Val’Cronis, a highly Volcanic system with rivers and oceans of magma and lava… there is a minor atmosphere and the planet has very little life on it… a known planet for dark elves and dragons to train on for battle and controlling fire… This planet has no moons, it is believed that at one time there was a moon but it literally melted due to the extreme heat generated by Val’Cronis’s and its massive volcanic eruptions, the melted moon rained lava down unto Val’Cronis’s surface making the planet the 3rd largest* in the Astra system. on the day the rock melts from the proximity from the sun, adding magma and lava to the mix, on the night the rock freezes solid creating earthquakes and shattered plates and more volcanoes, this only happens to half the planet at a time with the passage of day to night. A harsh world indeed, with mostly sulphur and carbon monoxide in the atmosphere, the planet appears red and black from space.
The second planet in the system is called Icgollumak a world frozen over in an endless ice age. There are snow and ice elves living here, most living nomadic lifestyles. Arctic wolves, ice and snow dragons, and the Icgul Molak Yeti, for which the planet is named after. The planet is made up entirely of ice and snow… so much so that it reflects the suns heat and releases it back into space, the heat is collected by Icgollumak’s 3 moons, Twee, Yeis and Frin (one named after Finalza, and one after the water god Tweeny). The 3 moons are made of a reflective type metal that absorbs the heat from the star and Val’Cronis, the moons then seem to transform the heat and energy into the cold air which is pulled into the planet. The moons have very high plate movement as a result of this temperature transformation making the moons themselves have many earthquakes. Some moon dragons have tried to colonize the moons but the food they mainly get is from the large supply of aquatic life living in the many oceans of Icgollumak… 90% of the planet’s surface is water while the remaining 10 is believed to be permafrozen water with a network of caves for the yetis and dragons to live. Many inhabitants of the planets live on the ice. at one time the water god made Icgollumak his home, with a shrine/temple built under the ice. The planet appears white and blue from space.
The 3rd planet from the sun is Venixia. Venixia is a planet with 75% land with nearly all of it covered in a deep lush forest. Many elves and forest dragons call this planet their home. The forest ripe with fruits makes for a large abundance of food and animals to hunt for both elf and dragon alike. Venixia is mainly peaceful, with only some fighting between elf tribes usually over territory. Venixia appears green from space.
Venixia has a total of 6 moons, known as the 6 sisters. all of the moons have been colonized by moon dragons, and the moons themselves all each support life. One moon, in particular, named “Ompt’Lampa” has its own moon revolving around it, as it revolves around Venixia. Ompt’Lampa is very Earth-like, with about 70% water on its surface and the remaining broken up between farm country, desert, mountains, and forests… this particular moon was the home of Adam’s meditation story, as well as the home of Viktor, Seleena, the spider queen, and surge, the moon orbiting ompt’lampa, simply called Luna by the locals, was the home of many gods, including today’s titanness Kerielly. It is said the moons help pull the plants from the ground, allowing all plant life on Venixia to grow rapidly.
The 4th planet from the sun is Lunixia. Lunixia is also known as Venixia’s darker sister. Lunxia’s irregular orbit places it directly behind Venixia at all times and thus rendering the planet’s surface to be constantly in the shadow of night, with only the little light reflected from venixia and its moons, as well as the light reflected from the Theis belt. Lunxia is known to be a haven for crime and all dark arts. Lunxia itself had 1 moon originally, but with the work of a curse and an evil creatress a second purple moon was created, it is said this second moon is made of pure amethyst, it has been the subject of many mining operations, but due to some unknown magic or curse no one can seem to leave the moon with any more than a scarce amount of the stone. The life on lunixia has adapted for the little light it gets, a very high density of moon dragons and moon unicorns live here. Lunixia remains a lawless zone even today. Lunixia appears purple and violet from space. The purple colour is due to the large fields of moon grass which gives a purple glow under the silver reflected light the planet gets. The moon grass is the main source of food for the unicorn and is even used by some elves to make a rare type of moon bread not found anywhere else. Lunixia is also known for its fields of wild roses which were planted by Elucia, the roses are mostly red, purple and black. Other sections of Lunixia have become good farmland for vineyards, which is used to create a wide assortment of wines sold and traded with other planets.
the 5th planet from the sun is Theis which is, in fact, an ancient planet that was broken apart by a war that was never recorded in the history books. The legend is that the war was between the TheisKhal and the gods of old. The TheisKhal was a highly technologically advanced race that would have put the Mogators (Mogays) to shame. Physically they highly resembled humans with the exception that their skin was stony gray, and their eyes were golden yellow. It is believed the humans of Astra were descendants of the TheisKhal. The war broke the planet into many pieces and spread it out around Astra. The largest remaining part of Theis has an irregular orbit and is constantly behind Lunxia. The planet now is lifeless and is stony gray. No life lives here and no one has tried to colonize it, not even the moon dragons. Theis was not known to have any moons if it did they were destroyed in the war. Large electrical and solar radiation storms usually appear on Theis’s remains, it is not yet fully understood why but it is believed that leftover electronic residue from the great war as well as its slowly dying core and magnetic fields which have gone haywire are the cause, the storms can even be seen from the night sky on some places in Lunixia. Some would-be adventures and artifact hunters looking for old technology and relics have tried to scavenge what they can from Thies’s remains, and to this day some are still successful in finding things, but many are not.
the 6th planet is Astra. Astra is surrounded on all sides by the asteroids which are remnants of Theis. The asteroids stay at a certain distance from Astra keeping them orbiting the planet but never crashing to the surface. The planet used to have 3 moons but during the Theis war, one of them was destroyed. Then a group of moon dragons literally stole the second moon. There is one moon remaining to orbit Astra today, which stays within close proximity of the planet and keeps the asteroids from the Theis belt at bay. That moon has some moon and other dragons living there in special colonies built by and maintained by Gea the goddess of nature who lives on Astra in one of the forests near spirit hill. Astra has many forms of life, Humans, Mogators, Elves, Dragons, and much more. Astra is known for its wars and rich history between its inhabitants. There is any type of terrain found on Astra, deserts, cliffs, mountains, tundra, forest, grassy plains, oceans…
One feature of Astra that it is known for is the subspace anomaly upon its surface, commonly referred to as “Astra’s Chaos Space” This anomaly has created another galaxy that exists entirely upon a section of Astra’s surface. you could be walking on a grassy field then suddenly be starring into the abyss of space. Within that galaxy was a homeworld of humans that were the descendants of the TheisKhal, that homeworld was destroyed and then became the home of Zero Cell during the long-going Cell wars. Those humans have now since been thought to be extinct. Including the chaos space, Astra is the largest planet* in the system.
The 7th and last planet in the system is Kar’Tharis. It is separated from Astra by the large asteroid field created by the destruction of Theis. Kar’Tharis is a planet that is entirely solid and rocky. It is made of a dark green metal which is said to be 20 times harder than the purest diamond. Its core constantly vibrates creating a planet that trembles and creates a wide range of radio waves and subsonic frequencies which render all technological devices useless within 4500 square feet of the planet. It has no moons, save the asteroids of Theis. All attempts to colonize, or mine the planet have failed due to the lack of resources on the planet, and rough terrain conditions. The frequencies it emits has also been known to stop all electrical signals in the brain and nervous system of all livening things, even dragons, causing brain death and the heart to stop, killing them within 400 square feet of the planet’s surface, these “death” frequencies only appear once every 2 days and all attempts to create a protection against have failed so far. The planet is entirely solid, has no atmosphere, no liquids and is entirely hilly and mountainous. it remains lifeless and barren, dubbed “the dead world”… It has the highest gravitational pull and is the heaviest of the planets in the Astra system. it would be the second-largest* planet in the system.
*Note regarding planet sizes: if you do not include Astra’s “chaos space” into the calculations, Astra would be the 3rd largest planet after Val’Cronis, with Kar’Tharis being the largest overall.
The half sun, known as Deskas, is a dwarf star which is located at the tail end of the solar system… it is rumoured to be the resting place of an old god who died during the Theis war. The dwarf star revolves around the main star much like a planet, and is farthest out, its light shines and does reach out as far as lunixia, which gets its light from Theis’s reflection. most of the light and heat Astra gets is in fact from the dwarf star, as it is closer to Deskas, rather than Deka. Deskas is extraordinarily light for a star, even as a dwarf, and has a very low gravitational pull, allowing it to be caught in Deka’s gravity and revolve much like another planet.
