This story starts on the 3rd planet from the sun in the Astra system. The planet Venixia, and follows the story of a warrior dark elf named Enwaqu…
Enwaqu found himself stranded on Venixia after his “friends” from the clan of mercenaries he was working with abandoned him there. Injured from a battle with an elven tribe they had been hired to fight, he laid beneath a tree waiting to die, looking up at the night sky.
Suddenly, a large dark and winged creature approached Enwaqu… This creature appeared to resemble that of a dragon and some form of bird demon. This figure asked Enwaqu something “Do you wish to live drow?” Enwaqu too weak to speak simply nodded thinking if he lived he may soon get revenge upon those who betrayed him. The shadow demon raised his paw and spoke something in a language Enwaqu did not understand, and suddenly he felt strength in his body again and his wounds were all but closed. Enwaqu looked at the demon and asked “Who are you… what are you?” the demon did not answer his question, instead he said, “I have done you a favour… and you must repay it. I have a quest for you, if you complete it without fail, I will grant you yet one more favour”. Enwaqu not believing in gods or other such beings began to wonder if this one was on the same page. Enwaqu replied hesitantly “what…what do you ask of me?” the demon replied “I desire a stone of which was stolen from me. This stone has a rare power and you must never stare into the stone for longer than 3 normal breaths that are not held nor overdrawn, or else great suffering shall befall you. It was stolen by a dragon who lives but 5 miles from here in a cave marked with the blood of the jaguar. Retriever for me this stone and return it to me here at this time tomorrow and I shall reward you. if you shall fail, you will die.”
Enwaqu accepted the quest and asked, “what of the dragon?”
the demon replied “that matter I leave to you, however, I would prefer he is killed for his crimes against me. if you kill him, I shall reward you justly…” Enwaqu replied “how will I recognize this stone?” the shadow demon paused a moment and then said, “it will be around like that of a planet but it will be black with a gold light like that of the sun within it but it will emit only darkness.” Enwaqu then said “then I shall do these things for you, one who will not give me his name, but has given me life anew” the shadow demon simply grinned and pointed his claw in the direction of the dragon’s cave and was gone in an explosion of blue flames.
Enwaqu got up and started heading in the direction the demon had pointed, he travelled swiftly but quietly and counting his steps along the way. when he reached a set of rocky hills and what appeared to be a cave he stopped and approached more slowly travelling in the shadows behind rocks or trees, he found blood marked around the entrance of the cave just as the demon had said there would be. Enwaqu surveyed the area and made a pass around the cave area checking for a possible backdoor or secret entrance but didn’t find any.
Enwaqu drew his sword and placed a spell of blackness over himself and quietly entered the cave. There he was immediately noticed by the dragon. the dragon spoke loud and clearly “Who goes there?? Speak your name and the reason for being here swiftly or I shall kill you now as a trespasser”. Enwaqu who had some experience hunting dragons but only as a group and never alone felt severely outmatched by the sound of the dragon’s voice he was an adult male. Enwaqu spoke in return ” I am Enwaqu Star’tidius from Lunxia, I have come here to take a stone which you are said to posses which you do not rightfully possess”. The dragon bellowed a great laugh “hahahahaa you have great courage Enwaqu Star’Tidius of Lunixia to approach a dragon on your own and at night at that. Or perhaps you are a fool who has come seeking his own death.” The dragon then emerged from the cave revealing scales that were black but scared from many battles, the dragon looked down at Enwaqu and then grinned revealing his sharpened teeth. “You come to me to die then dark elf, as I know the scent of the one who sent you…”
