A Glossary of Creatures … Index 1

Dear reader,

Here we shall share a glossary, or index, of some various creatures and beings found on Astra, and through the veil.  There shall also be some other information, and history shared within.

Of Hadrens and Demons… are shape shifters demons? In some cultures and languages, it is not uncommon for them to be called demons. Even some of the technical terms used to describe some of the various types of shifters … or Hadrens, do indeed use the term for the word demon in the name. A very common misconception is that all light shifters are good, and all shadow shifters are evil. A similar misconception can be said of death and truth seekers.

Hadrens to gain the essence of someone, in order to transform as their target, often require gathering the DNA of the target. A drop of blood, saliva, a loose hair, are very common. The two best methods for ensuring that the copy is as close to perfect as possible is usually to get the blood or sexual fluids of their target. Many use various tools to gain blood or other DNA samples. With some exceptions, for example, shadow shifters instead usually prefer a very small piece of their targets souls.

Luahadren: aka Lunarias Demonis. A moon shapeshifter. These are a very rare breed and are often confused with the more common Lighyhadren or Light shifter. As the name states, they shapeshift using the power of the moon. These shifters are not just physical shifters, as they can mirror a soul perfectly. A common trait of moon shifters is to carry a mirror or pieces of moon rocks with them. It is believed that despite using a traditional tool, they instead use a mirror to capture their targets essence.

Lighyhadren: aka Luxios Demonis. A light shapeshifter. They can bend light to their will to copy a physical form, the more skilled types can even copy the soul of their target.  These kinds do not use any known tools, and some are said to be able to just see the naked soul of their intended targets. Most can use light energy as a power or weapon in battle.

Shayhadren: aka Shadowis Demonis. A shadow shapeshifter. A type that is commonly thought to be evil or death seekers by default. Shadow shifters often use a weapon as their tool of choice and gain their targets essence during battle. Some shadow shifters often kill and consume the souls of their targets and thus can permanently gain their abilities and looks.  These types are known to often take the forms of shadows or clouds and smoke of darkness. They often stalk their targets in the shadows and are very hard to detect.

Ignishadren: aka Pyrosis Demonis. A fire shapeshifter. A type that is usually known to be very powerful. Often only uses its shapeshifting abilities during combat, to return an enemy’s attacks twice fold. These types are known to use various types of tools, often dependent upon their personality. As the name states, they often show a great skill controlling and creating fire.

Aquahadren: aka Marias Demonis. A water shapeshifter. A type that is a master of the water element, commonly able to change their bodies into a liquid water form. These types are not known to use any tools, and it is believed that they simply can recall what their targets appearance and skills are only having seen them once.

Faythadren: A faythadren is simply a hadren who was sealed away in the fateless realm of Fae’il. These Hadrens are usually the followers of Varjas.  Many are descendants of one of the 3 faytes, and many believe that is where they get their name.

Hadren: A shapeshifter. A creature who has the ability to take the form and powers of another through various means.  Their hadren form, or true form, varies from type to type, and from family to family. Often they only reveal their true forms to those they truly trust (i.e.: a lover, their parents, etc). They are also known to reveal their true forms to an enemy, doing this declares that this is a battle to the death, and nothing will be held back.

Drayhadren: A dragon Hadren hybrid. There are 2 main classifications of Drayhadrens.

  • Ancient Drayhadren: A true Drayhadren,  one who still has the ability to change form, often believed to be the origin of both Dragons and Hadrens, depending who you ask beyond the veil. Has the full abilities of both Dragons and Hadrens.
  • Modern Drayhadren: A creature born through many generations of breeding between Dragons and Hadrens. Many of these have lost the ability to change their shape, and some have even lost the ability to breathe fire or fly. Different clans and families seem to have varying degrees of skills or abilities from either side of the Hadren or Dragon coin.

Truth Seeker or Lie Seeker: A hadren who is a seeker of lies and truths, records lies and truths usually in gemstones. They are known to remain mostly separate from events, and usually, appear at major events to record and observe. They usually attempt to reveal lies and buried truths. True truth-seeking is said to be an art that is almost lost and is only known to a rare few.

Death Seeker: A hadren who seeks death, they usually appear during great battles to absorb the souls of the fallen. Some are known to cause wars and chaos simply so they can grow their collection. These are usually cold and have the scent of death “the coldness of death”. Not to be confused with soul or chaos reapers.

It is also possible for hybrids of 2 types of hadrens to exist, for example, if an Ignishadren and a Shayhadren were to mate, their children would have both fire and shadow abilities. There are many other types of Hadrens not included here, almost as many as types of Dragons. The same can be said of Drayhadrens.

Dear reader, please consider reading this entry if you wish to see more about the Hadrens.

Await the next Index before the fall of the stars…
